The house, located in a wooded area, lays completely free, no other houses are in the direct surroundings. Behind the house lays a tin mine (which is daily opened for tourist) "grube Wohlfahrt", where this accommodation has derived its name to. It is definitely worth to visit the mine, which provides an interesting look at the history of mining.
Hellenthal is located near the Belgian border and the nature park “Hoge Vennen”. In the winter there are skiing facilities at WeißerStein which is in the summer a fantastic area for hiking. Furthermore has Hellenthal its own Wildlife Park which is nice for the whole family. And finally nearby Monschau (known for its half-timbered houses)and National Park - Eifel should not be missing on your list of trips.
